MWA were appointed to complete designs for three adjoining Grade II listed buildings (Calpe House) on the historic Norfolk Square. The scheme involves the amalgamation of the properties to form a convalescence home for Gibraltan patients, on behalf of The Calpe House Charitable Trust. Once complete, the new Calpe House will provide a familiar and permanent facility for patients to stay during their treatment - a 'home from home'.
The building has been carefully and respectfully restored incorporating minor internal alterations including levelling out the floor plates to create 36 self-contained accessible rooms.
Planning permission was granted by Westminster City Council after unanimous approval at committe in early October 2015 and works completed in the summer of 2018.
