Berliner Union of Film was the second appointment in Berlin for Marek Wojciechowski Architects by Avignon Capital. MWA were appointed to design a master plan for the Campus, which is located immediately to the south of the Tempelhof Airfield and enjoys panoramic views across Berlin .The site enjoys a rich history dating back to the early 1900’s with numerous feature films being produced there.
The campus is occupied by three original, listed studios and later piecemeal developments which have taken place over the last 40-50 years, leaving the site cluttered and inefficient.
The proposals look to rationalise the existing accommodation, improve wayfinding and reposition the campus creating a fashionable destination in Berlin.
Designs include an outdoor Cinema overlooking a reinstated lake and an underground carpark which frees up space for communal gardens and activity zones.
