Bell Yard Apartments Shortlisted for RICS Social Impact Awards 2020

                                19 February 2020

Bell Yard Apartments have been shortlisted for the inaugural RICS Social Impact Awards 2020 in the Residential Category.

Bell Yard Apartments is a 10,600 sqft office-to-residential conversion adjacent to the Royal Courts of Justice, London. The existing building was low in architectural merit and presented an exciting opportunity to be reimagined as something of much higher quality and contribute more positively to the local conservation area. With shared aspirations towards adaptive reuse, the project team achieved this with minimal structural intervention; whilst managing to increase the GIA by 25% and dramatically improving its appearance.

MWA are excited to announce that Bell Yard apartments have completed

                                                30 October 2019

The proposed design is driven by its historical neighbours with the hierarchy, proportions and materiality all designed to enhance the street scene. The rhythm of the façade takes cues from its origin as four town houses. The predominance of brickwork with rich stone embellishment allows a contemporary interpretation of the ornate window surrounds found on the adjoining buildings. Internally, the office space has been re configured to create 12 high quality apartments all of which enjoy views over the Royal Courts of Justice.
